Engineer/Scientist (Ships)

Demand for our internationally renowned ship navigation and mooring services continues to grow. Would you like to join us and take a key role our consultancy and research projects in this area? Our Ships team has vacancies for an Engineer/Scientist. It’s a chance to get involved in our ship navigation simulation studies, often using our state of the art ship and tug simulators, and ship mooring studies using our extensive physical modelling facilities or numerical models. You would also help us to innovate through a programme of research and development.

Want to get on board? You will need excellent communication skills and a technical background in a relevant engineering or scientific discipline. It would be an advantage if you have experience of ship navigation, ship mooring and port operations/logistics related work.

Our idea candidate will have:

  • A good engineering or scientific degree and a higher degree in a relevant subject.
  • Two years post graduate experience.
  • An ability to work collaboratively with multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • An interest in research and development in ship related topics.

It would be an advantage if you have:

  • Data analysis and coding skills (Matlab, Python, .net).
  • Experience of ship navigation and ship mooring project work.

You will be based at our Howbery Park offices near Wallingford, in Oxfordshire, UK.
