Graduate Engineer (Equipment, Technology and Innovation)

Can you help us to make waves around the world? We have a fantastic opportunity for a Graduate Engineer to join our team and help us drive forward our thriving wavemaker, equipment and technology business.

As a specialist water-focused consultancy, we build and test scale models to help us explore developments in the coastal and marine environments and our facilities are some of the largest in the world. To support this work, we develop specialist equipment, software and instrumentation for our engineers and scientists, and we also supply these to other facilities around the globe.

Join our Equipment, Technology and Innovation group – a multi-disciplinary team of mechanical, electrical and software engineers – and help us to develop and deliver our class-leading portfolio to international clients.

About the role

From concept through to delivery, you will support our project managers to deliver projects and assist them through all stages of the project lifecycle. You will support in the development of specifications, design solutions and procure materials. As the role develops there maybe opportunities for international travel, as we commission our equipment and train end users at our client’s sites.

About you

We are looking for someone who is:

  • Technically inquisitive: you will help our team to innovate and deliver novel solutions for our clients
  • Hands on: you will need a practical approach to help us resolve technical issues and meet deadlines.
  • Self-motivated: you may sometimes work independently as well as within a team
  • Flexible: you will be able to respond positively and adapt to changing priorities.

We would also like to see:

  • A degree level qualification: in either a mechanical or electrical discipline.
  • 2D & 3D drawing knowledge: preferably in AutoCAD and Solidworks
  • Good with numbers: you will need to perform engineering calculations to validate the design
  • Language skills: good spoken and written English will be the minimum requirement. As we work all over the world, other languages would also be welcome.
