SeaZone Solutions is the foremost UK company supplying marine maps and marine GIS services to government, industry and academia. Our aim is to provide the best available information to organisations operating in the marine environment worldwide. Sectors as diverse as renewable energy, conservation management, coastal engineering and marine recreation rely on SeaZone data.
SeaZone innovates constantly its range of data products and services; re-engineering what we deliver to meet the growing demand for marine information services. This expansion into new services has created the opportunities for a talented systems analyst with 10 plus years' expertise to join the SeaZone team.
As a pre-requisite you must have strong analytical skills in spatial data processing, both from an architectural and implementation perspective. In particular we require someone who can critically appraise our existing data production systems and lead on implementing changes to improve system flexibility and operating efficiency. Direct experience of any of the following would be advantageous: GIS (ESRI, MapInfo, CadCorp), Oracle spatial, PostgresSQL and FME Server.
Working as part of the SeaZone team of Database and GIS Analysts you will have responsibility to drive improvements so it is essential that you can present arguments and recommendations for particular improvement strategies and engage others in their implementation.
SeaZone Solutions is part of HR Wallingford, an independent research and consultancy organisation. We are committed to recruiting and retaining staff of the highest calibre. We offer a stimulating working environment, competitive salaries and an excellent benefits package that includes a pension scheme, flexible working hours, childcare vouchers, staff restaurant and a sports and social club.
