The Assistant Accountant (International) holds the key responsibility for overseeing financial and management accounts across our overseas offices. Reporting directly to the Group Financial Controller, you will be a crucial member of our finance team, actively engaged in preparing, planning, and analysing these accounts. Your role encompasses maintaining stringent controls and delivering vital commercial support to our Group.

You will lead monthly account preparation, handle efficient financial reporting collaborations with external partners, ensure compliant international payments, support year-end audits, manage accruals, and contribute to balance sheet reconciliations. You will serve as the primary contact for guarantees and letters of credit, be responsible for intercompany postings and reconciliations, prepare monthly Group KPI reports, aid in budgeting and forecasting, optimise treasury operations with the GFD and GFC, update bank mandates, streamline accounting processes, assist payroll, and manage ad-hoc duties.

Key Qualifications, Skills and Experience

  • A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a relevant field would be beneficial.
  • Part Qualified - studying towards an accounting qualification (CIMA/ACCA).
  • Proven experience of working with international accounting operations.
  • Excellent accounting software user and strong administration skills.

The ideal candidate will possess a foundation of integrity and leadership, coupled with a proactive outlook and effective communication skills, both verbal and written, supporting seamless teamwork and thorough documentation. You will be a highly motivated problem solver able to adapt to changing priorities, along with being able to demonstrate exceptional organisation skills and the ability to maintain composure under pressure.
