Graduate/Project Engineer or Scientist, Australia

Out of our Fremantle office we support Oil & Gas, Mining and Port operations by primarily providing ship navigation, mooring and environmental simulation services, which are used in port and marine terminal design, pilot and tug master training, and licencing, utilising our in-house specialist ship and tug navigation simulators. We also provide general engineering support in relation to all aspects of coastal / maritime projects and environmental impact assessments.

We are looking to recruit a Graduate/Project Engineer or Scientist to help deliver our growing ship navigation related work.  The successful candidate will join the Ships and Dredging Group at HR Wallingford in Fremantle, Western Australia and take an important role in consultancy and research work. 

About the Role

You will be participating in ship navigation simulation studies often using our state of the art ship and tug simulators. As you develop in the role, it will be expanded to include other navigation related studies and ship mooring studies, that may use some of our extensive numerical models.  With plenty of development opportunities and career progression, this is a new role in a growing business

About You

You will be able to demonstrate a technical background in a relevant engineering or scientific discipline with an interest in research and development in ship related topics. Experience and knowledge of ship navigation, ship mooring and/or port operations/logistics related work will be an advantage, but is not essential.  Excellent oral and written communication skills with a proactive approach, are a prerequisite, as is an ability to work collaboratively in multi-disciplinary teams.

Knowledge of data analysis and coding skills (Matlab, Python, .net, etc.) would be advantageous.
