Technical Director/Principal Engineer/Scientist (ships) (2020_18)

Do you want to help lead our growing ship navigation and mooring related work and take a prominent role in our consultancy and research work? We have a great opportunity for a Technical Director/Principal Engineer/Scientist to join our Ships and Dredging Group based at our headquarters in Oxfordshire.

About the role

Using our state-of-the-art ship and tug simulators you will lead ship navigation simulation studies. You will also use our extensive physical modelling facilities or numerical models to undertake ship mooring studies In addition, this role gives you the opportunity to undertake innovative research and development to support this growing business area.

About you

You will have excellent communication and client liaison skills, underpinned by a strong technical background in ship navigation, ship mooring and port operations/logistics. You will enjoy working collaboratively with multi – disciplinary teams.  A good engineering or scientific degree is a prerequisite, in addition at least 5 years professional experience or a higher degree in a relevant subject is also needed. You will also be able to demonstrate experience of ship navigation and ship mooring project work and delivery. Our clients are both national and international and we would expect you to have a working knowledge of these.
