Ed Warwick

Ed is Chief Financial Officer of HR Wallingford, having joined the company in 2024. Since then, he has played a pivotal role in driving financial resilience and strategic growth, underpinning HR Wallingford’s ambition to remain a global leader in water-related solutions. Ed has been instrumental in advancing our technology resilience programme, shaping our research strategy as a UK Scientific Research Association, and championing sustainability initiatives across our Howbery Park campus, ensuring our operations align with our long-term environmental goals.

Beyond financial stewardship, Ed is engaged in shaping innovation across the organisation. By aligning investment decisions with research priorities and emerging technologies, he ensures that HR Wallingford continues to deliver cutting-edge solutions to some of the world’s most complex water-related challenges.

Before joining HR Wallingford, Ed was Finance Director of Group Functions at Oxford University Press, where he oversaw global financials for technology, supply chain, estates, and operations, as well as HR, finance, and legal functions. Prior to that, he held senior finance roles at FTSE-listed RM plc, including Group Financial Controller and Divisional Finance Director. Ed began his career with PwC in London, qualifying as a Chartered Accountant in financial services audit. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales and holds a master’s degree in engineering from the University of Durham.
