SHIPMOOR

SHIPMOORTM is an easy-to-use, innovative mooring analysis tool which has been designed to cut costs and improve safety for the LNG industry by allowing the rapid assessment of mooring arrangements, so reducing the risk of disconnection between LNG terminals and carriers and mooring line partings.

The SHIPMOORTM tool, developed in partnership with Witherby Publishing Group, improves mooring analysis and 3D visualisation of the mooring arrangement because, as an internet-based application, it is always up-to-date.

Primarily designed to make the mooring analysis of an LNG carrier alongside a berth a straightforward process, SHIPMOOR reduces the likelihood of errors thanks to pre-entered ship and berth data. SHIPMOOR then uses the combined power of multiple cloud-based servers to compute the static (Phase I) and fully dynamic mooring (Phase II) analysis for vessels.

SHIPMOOR can be used for all LNG vessels to validate their mooring arrangements against berth-specific conditions and, in the case of tankers, to validate those results against OCIMF criteria.

The tool combines our well established and industry standard mooring analysis calculation engine with Witherby’s data on terminals, and cloud-based software infrastructure. We have developed and used our mooring analysis system in port design calculations for more than 40 years.

Features of SHIPMOOR

  • No installation
  • Always up-to-date with accurate LNG terminal and carrier data
  • Easy to use
  • Quick, reliable and accurate ship/shore mooring analysis
  • Ship particulars entered prior to customer use
  • Provides both static and dynamic mooring calculations
