We have received a UK Space Agency grant to work on Sapphire Agriculture, a tool which will establish the contribution of agriculture to poor water quality in our rivers and bathing waters.
We have received a UK Space Agency grant to work on Sapphire Agriculture, a tool which will establish the contribution of agriculture to poor water quality in our rivers and bathing waters.
Sapphire Agriculture will focus on a new application which will integrate satellite Earth Observation data into an artificial intelligence tool. The objective is to provide a new insight into this urgent and high profile problem, supporting decision-making to address the issues.
This work will build on our prototype Sapphire AI tool, which focuses on the impact of wastewater infrastructure on water quality.
Sapphire Agriculture is one of 17 UK space projects that is receiving funds from a total pot of £17 million from UK Space Agency’s National Space Innovation Programme. With the investments, the UK Space Agency aims to accelerate breakthrough technologies, boost commercialisation, and reinforce the UK’s global leadership in space innovation.
